Do I need to enter Spouse Information?

Spouse information is required for your tax return. Even though the spouse is not preparing a return in the same account, you still need to enter at least the following:

• Name,
• Social insurance number,
• Date of birth - if he/she is not over 65 and not under 18, you can put any date in between, the date itself is not part of the tax return,
• Worldwide net income - it is necessary if you are applying for some tax credit or benefit, like spouse transfer, CCB, GST/HST, medical expenses supplement etc. Try your best to estimate. If you are certain not to claim any of those, you can tick the box "Don't know and don't care" on the page.
